CHANCE OF A LIFETIME!     2008 BIBLICAL STUDY TOUR

Every year the Biblical Study Tour brings us to another exciting location. (For example, last year we visited Pergamum, Ephesus, Laodicea, and Patmos.) Our 2008 adventure will take place in three countries. Choose any combination of the three segments to build your own biblical adventure!

*** July 17-20 -- 14th Annual International Teachers' Seminar, Egypt. Our theme:

EGYPT IN THE BIBLE
10 hours of classes and workshops, worship with Cairo Christians, cruise on Nile, visit pyramids, and more! Sunday we will drive through the Sinai and into Israel through the desert and Dead Sea area, arriving for our 8 pm dinner with the Biblical Study Tour group in Tiberias (Galilee). All are welcome to this seminar, which will include much more teaching and discussion than the Biblical Study Tour in Israel.

Theme: Egypt in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

For many nationals, you will want to see the visa regulations. For those coming from North America and Europe, you can get your visa at the airport (Cairo) for US$15. We begin with dinner on the evening of the 17th, around 8 pm.

To date: 140 people signed up for Egypt

*** July 20-26 -- Biblical Study Tour in Israel (2 days in Galilee, 4 days in Jerusalem).

WALKING WHERE JESUS WALKED
Includes most or all of the following: prayer in Garden of Gethsemane, visit to Herodion (recently discovered tomb of Herod the Great), Bethlehem, Mount of Olives, Hezekiah's Tunnel, Pool of Siloam, Warren's Shaft, Western Wall Tunnel, Temple Mount, Holy Sepulchre, Israel Museum/Dead Sea Scrolls, Armageddon, Dan, Maritime Caesarea, Hazor, Beth Shean, Qumran/Dead Sea Caves, Capernaum, Bethsaida, Sea of Galilee, Bethsaida, Masada, and more! Watch the Bible come alive!

Worship with Israeli and Palestinian Christians. Special classes for sisters (with Vicki Jacoby) and teens (with Douglas Jacoby). Good for couples, children old enough to appreciate Bible places, friends -- anybody! (Note: children under 12 save 10%.) We begin with dinner on the evening of the 20th, around 8 pm.

To date: 154 signed up for Israel

*** July 26-28 (optional) -- go east across the River Jordan into the nation of Jordan.

THE VIEW FROM THE OTHER SIDE
Visit Mount Nebo, viewing the Promised Land from the other side. Take a dip in the Dead Sea!  Sing in an ancient Roman Theatre.  The stunning views of Petra will move your soul, not to mention the great fellowship! Worship with disciples from Jordan and many other nations! Afterwards you can return to Israel (if you are staying on or have a late flight), or fly out of Amman (Jordan's capital).

To date: 96 signed up for Jordan

The Benefits of coming
Your faith will be strengthened. The fellowship will be invigorating. And your heart will fill with memories to last you the rest of your life. What better family Christmas present than a trip to the Holy Land? Prices are in $US.

Usually the Biblical Study Tour takes place in May or November. For 2008 we chose summer so that families would be able to attend, as well as those whose jobs do not permit them to take time off except in the summer. We will all stay in the same hotels for Cairo, Tiberias, and Jordan. A three-star option is available for Jerusalem and Tiberias only. However, many of our reserved rooms are in the five star hotel. Single supplement is for those who prefer not to share a room. Prices include all meals, admissions, tours, tips, transport, airport transfers, border crossings, ITS travel from Cairo to Tiberias, etc.

All you will need to bring with you is money for gifts, and payment for visas if you have not secured them in advance. For some nationals, you need to see the visa regulations and get your visa in advance. For those coming from North America and Europe, you can get your visa when we cross the border. Click here for general visa rules. We begin in Jerusalem the morning of the 26th, and end in Jordan with breakfast on the morning of the 28th.

Flights

Fly into Cairo for the Teachers' Seminar, otherwise fly into Tel Aviv.  Fly home from Tel Aviv, though if you are going to Jordan, Amman will probably be easier. Airfare not included. You may also wish to purchase travel insurance, and possibly foreign medical coverage if your policy does not include this.
