What is meant by the word "godhead"?

While many use “godhead” to stand for the trinity, the word actually means (only) divinity. In older English, god-head = god-hood. All three members of Trinity are divine, hence equal in nature. So godhood, or godhead, is divinity—a quality of Father, Son, and Spirit. The occasional Col 2:9 translation “godhead” I think obscures the basic meaning.
