Our church's musical ministry recently got rated a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10! There are no men available to lead this ministry. A sister who is a professional full-time musician with a degree from the Indiana University School of Music -- where she was taught to lead a church music ministry -- stepped forward, but was not called upon because she was not a man. Can women lead men in melody?

I don't see why not--if done with respect and sensitivity. I have been positive about such a idea for 15 years now. However--and this is a big however--if many members would be confused or disturbed by such an "innovation," then timing and discretion (and plain old love) would probably dictate not going forward with this (yet).
