In Moses' encounter with Pharaoh, he asked the Egyptian ruler if the Israelites could have three days to go and worship God in the wilderness. Of course they eventually left for good, after all the plagues and Passover. I'm just confused why Moses asked Pharaoh for three days, when their intention was to depart for good. -- Jenn Lukens

In Exodus 5:3, Moses is not saying the Israelites will be away for only three days. The "three-day journey" is the distance from the city they will travel--probably no more than 20-25 miles. Now we know that Moses is not planning on returning, but he nowhere lies to Pharaoh. I hope this helps resolve the confusion.
