Do you have any book or dictionary recommendations for those of us crazy enough to want to learn Biblical Hebrew and Greek? -- Sandi Redus (Austin)

The best advice I can give is this: study the biblical languages in a university language class. To master any language -- especially an ancient one! -- structure and accountability are needed. I mean classes, quizzes, and exams. I am afraid that otherwise the best you will do is half-learn it--which is worse than knowing nothing.

Someone said, "A little learning is a dang'rous thing / Drink deep, or touch not the Pierian spring." Of course there are Teach-yourself books you can buy, and these may serve as a helpful introduction, provided they are followed up with college-level instruction. But don't just dabble.
