My question is in regard to politics. I like to keep up with what is going on in the United States, and as you know we currently have a female presidential candidate. I would like to know if this is biblically permissible. I know that this is not a matter of salvation. I guess I'm tired of hearing (even from the pulpit) that it would be ungodly for a woman to lead the nation. Can you give me your thoughts?

I do not think this is a biblical matter. It's kind of like the question, Does God want us to eat chicken or beef? There is no right and wrong, since this is neither a biblical nor a moral issue.

Now if she were a preacher in church, that would be different. In that case, the clear teaching of the NT vis-à-vis churches would apply.

No, I do not think it is wrong to have a woman in politics. Especially when women listen to men and men listen to women, given the inevitable and fruitful complementary perspectives each gender brings to matters of policy. In fact, probably most nations would be a lot better off if they had more women in leadership!
