I am fully aware that truth cannot contradict truth, so I expect no real contradictions in the Bible. However, this seems to be one that I am wrestling with. I would like to know your thoughts. Matthew 7:14 says, "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." And then we have Matthew 9:37, "Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.' " Now it seems Jesus is saying there are many who will be saved if we get more workers. What say you? -- Jason Reichert (Atlanta)

I see no contradiction. There are billions on the planet. The earth's human population is inconceivably large (6 billion on the way to 12 billion)! In the end, I can believe that millions may be saved--a very small portion--but still a huge number (Revelation 7:9)! The harvest is plentiful.
