Did God create Jesus? I was reading John 5:26 (For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself). But I thought He was always there as well. — Frank Alford

No, he was not created. The life in the Son is the life that we may have through the Son. It doesn’t refer to the Son coming into existence. And yet the Son is - in some sense - subordinate to the Father. “Trinity" doesn’t have to mean that the three persons are equal in every way. Take a look at verse 18: "For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God."
I think you will find other NT passages that support my response.
