I was wondering, are the words "sun" in Joshua 10:12-13 and "shadow" in 2 Kings 20:8-11 the same? -- Angela (Atlanta)
The Hebrew word for sun in Joshua 10 is the usual shemesh, while shadow in 2 Kings 20 is tsel. They are unrelated. They appear together in at least two OT verses: Ecclesiastes 6:12 and Isaiah 38:8, though not interchangeably. I hope this information is helpful.
